 Dr. James Tong 

Dr. James Y. W. Tong , he was awarded the scholarship to take up his postgraduate studies in management at the University of Salford, England, and was conferred the degree of Master of Science in Management. His subsequent doctoral degrees include Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Nottingham, England, and Doctor of Business Administration from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His doctoral research theses were in the areas of Quality and Effectiveness of Distance Education as well as Business Process Re-engineering.

On top of his sound academic qualifications, he has obtained professional designations of several leading chartered bodies in the United Kingdom. These include: Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Chartered Institute of Transport, Chartered Institute of Marketing, and Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Hong Kong, a Certified General Accountant (CGA) of British Columbia, Canada, and Member of the Canadian Institute of Marketing (MCInst.M).

He commenced his full-time teaching career at the Hong Kong Technical College (now Hong Kong Polytechnic University) where he taught courses in business and management. He was formerly Senior Lecturer/Program Leader responsible for the general management and human resources management programs for the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business administration at the Open University of Hong Kong. His last academic position in Hong Kong was the Program Director of the Caritas Group being responsible for all the business and hospitality management programs leading to the awards of certificate, diploma, and Associate Degree as well as Higher National Diploma of the Business and Technical Education Council (BTEC) of the United Kingdom. He also conducted public seminars and lectures in sales and marketing, financial management, human resources management, business, and general management.

While in Vancouver, he was appointed Head of the Business Administration Department for a leading educational group, which was a private tertiary institution offering diploma, advanced diploma, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in hospitality management and business administration under the auspices of Lansbridge University and Central Michigan University. He was later appointed as a Lecturer in the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program at the Sprott-Shaw Degree College. He has written quite a number of academic papers on academic and management topics which were published and appeared in leading international journals.

In addition to his teaching career, he has extensive working experience at senior management levels in both private and public organizations, covering the disciplines of sales and marketing, administration, human resources management, and general management. During his time at Hong Kong Telecommunications Limited, he was the first local executive appointed as the Group Company Secretary.

In his community service, he joined the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force and was promoted to the rank of Superintendent commanding a police district to carry out operational duties for maintenance of law and order.

Personal Introduction
David has been working in the travel industry through all his adult life. He has worked in many different sections of the travel industry.He has ample experience with travel agent, hotel, entertainment, tourism education and tourism services and gaming industry. He has been to many places in Europe, Asia, North America, Australia and Africa as a tour guide, a travel business salesperson, a travel exhibitor, a new travel product developer, and so much more. All of above give him a more detailed understanding of travel industry, which fosters his storyteller’s teaching style.As an entrepreneur of tourism companies in China, Australia and North America, David has a considerable number of study cases accumulated over years of management experience to share with his students.His research interests are tourism marketing studies, consumer behavior, and service quality management.

 

 Mr. Howin Singh Chahal

Mr. Howin obtained his Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree in Psychology at Kwantlen University College in 2007.  He achieved Associate Arts Degree in Psychology at Kwantlen University College in 2004. Mr Howin worked in Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel from September 2005 to May 2006 in charge of General Concierge Duties for the residential tenants of the North Tower. As consultant of Times Telecom Inc. form September 2004 to July 2005, Howin Setup of new telecom phone systems and call management software.  Howin was responsible for the call center supervisor in CGT Research International from March 2002 to February 2004. Howin was Customer Service Manager at North Voice Communications Inc. from March 2000 to March 2001. He was in charge of Executive Recruiter at Research House Inc. from January 1997 to January 1999. Howin was Supervisor at Points of View Research from September 1995 to January 1997. Mr. Howin was Telemarketer at ITA Enterprises from June 1993 to September 1995.


From 2007, Howin began to teach hospitality program as instructor in PCBL. His valuable career experiences and vivid teaching approaches obtained students’ respect. He assisted PCBL in some important public hospitality seminars which benefits most of the attendants who show interests in hospitality industry. He achieved the AHLA certificate credit for having taken the hospitality courses.



Mr.Jeff Wang

 

Jeff Wang, LLM/MBA, graduated in Beijing University (LLB and LLM), majored in international relations and international law. As a research fellow of European politics and economy in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) for 4 years, he used to be the senior research project manager and published many books, reports, and articles in Mainland China. 1994-1996, he studied in Harvard University, financially sponsored by the Ford Foundation of US. Jeff graduated from a couple of Canadian and American university or college during 2000 to 2003, including Algonquin College of Ontario, Canada (Diploma in e-Business Development & e-Marketing) and International Technological University of California, USA (MBA). Being a freelance, he writes and translates many articles regarding political, social, and economical issues for American media. Jeff taught, is teaching, and will teach in different universities and colleges in North America, such as Lincoln University (Oakland, CA USA), CDI College of Business and Technology (Vancouver), Vancouver Career College (Burnaby), and Lawrence Technological University (LTU)(Southfield, MI USA). In Prospect College of Business and Language (PCBL), Jeff started teaching marketing & advertising, management, business law, and computer business application courses since January of 2008.


 

Ms. Yunona Gogia

Yunona Gogia has been teaching for 10 years. She has an MA with major in Journalism and Japanese Linguistics from the Moscow State University, and she also acquired an AHLA Hospitality Management Diploma in Vancouver, BC. Her teaching experience is diverse and includes years of teaching Japanese language, English Interpretation and Hospitality Management courses to the university graduate and undergraduate students at the Moscow State University, University of Eastern Studies as well as Columbia College and Western Town College in Vancouver, BC. Before coming to North America Yunona had worked as a marketing research specialist at Itochu International, Inc. and as an Administrative Manager at the Japanese Consulate School in Moscow, Russia.  She lived and worked for long periods of time in Tokyo, Japan, and Bloomington, US and traveled to Turkey, Spain and Hungary. This experience helped her acquire global perspective and also understand and later implement in teaching strategies culture and traditions of different countries. Yunona has profound practical knowledge of Hospitality industry, Food & Beverages services in particular, because it has been 3 years since she took the responsibility of working as an Operations Manager for Yumico Catering Company. She has vast experience of developing and implementing operations and marketing plans and strategies, and planning and executing large scale events. She participated in TV and radio programs in Japan and the US and also appeared as a guest in the City Cooks CTV program. 
While always being busy working for the Food & Beverages Company, writing and translating articles for newspapers and magazines Yunona Gogia is the most passionate about teaching. Her motto is – ‘make it simple, interesting and motivating’. She believes that good education is the basis of personal growth and the best investment in future, and says that her happiest moment as a teacher is when she receives feedback from those students, who already completed the course, acknowledging how useful the studies were and how encouraging was the course for their future endeavors.
